What is a smart goal?
A smart goal is usually Specific:If it is not specific you can't really see the target, so you can't aim at it. Measurable:If it is not measurable you won't know when you get there. Attainable:If the goal is too far out of reach, it can actually be quite destructive. For example, If you earn $20,000/year and set a goal of $1,000,000 a year this may be quite dis-motivating, but setting $40,000 would be attainable. Realistic If it is not realistic it can be very posing,You need to believe it is possible. And last but not least Time based:If it is not time based you will not be driven to finish it.Goals that are not all of these things lack qualities that help you focus.Short term goal is to completely finish the B.I.T.S summer program so that I can obtain my high school diploma.
Long term goal is to go to college and complete my associates degree. I need this goal completed in order for me to begin my training in Psychology, and to obtain my Bachelors. Once I have my associates degree in Psychology, I will try to seek some type of employment at a elementary school as a counselor or a counselor in training to have the necessary experience. Once I have my PhD, in order to start my own practice I plan to voluteer work at Pennsylvania Hospital for extra training and hands on experience.
